Monitoring and Evaluation of Research and Innovation, known under its acronym MERI, is a department of the Belgian Science Policy Office (or BELSPO).

This service's main activities are:

• the production of official statistics on research and innovation
• authoring publications on research and innovation

You can consult the dynamic applications available under the tab Databases for research and innovation statistics. Interactive databases for each domain allow you to retrieve the available data in the most useful format.

Under the heading Publications, you will find a list of all MERI publications, for the most part readily downloadable:

• Policy reports and key indicators, providing insight in the Belgian innovation system
• 'Statistics in Brief', making research and innovation data accessible to a wider audience
• Scientific publications in international journals, with abstract and link to the full text publication
• Studies, providing in depth analyses of specific subjects
• Consultation documents, covering a variety of types of publications: books, chapters in books, external reports, brief reports in popular science.
