Op 25 april 2024 organiseert MERI, een dienst van Federaal Wetenschapsbeleid (BELSPO), een conferentie in het kader van het Belgisch voorzitterschap van de Europese Raad. De conferentie gaat door in het museum voor Kunst en Geschiedenis dat gelegen is in het Jubelpark (www.kmkg-mrah.be/nl).
R&D en innovatie zijn de laatste jaren belangrijke elementen geworden om het beleid vorm te geven om de toekomstige uitdagingen aan te pakken. Daarbij staan twee elementen centraal in het beleidsdebat: de duurzaamheid en de maatschappelijke impact van nieuwe technologieën. De ontwikkeling van nieuwe indicatoren zal van essentieel belang zijn om landen te ondersteunen bij de uitwerking van hun wetenschaps- en innovatiebeleid. De conferentie laat een diverse groep van experten aan het woord die vanuit hun vakgebied een antwoord proberen formuleren op de uitdagingen die zich stellen en de manier waarop het beleid kan gemonitord worden.
